Tarvinonline has been up and running for just 13 months. The Tarvin Webteam thought it might be a good time to remind you who we are, what we are trying to do and how all the residents of Tarvin Parish can contribute and enjoy the website

Why have we got Tarvinonline?

The Tarvin Parish Plan Implementation team felt that a new Community website was the ideal framework to achieve :-

Co-ordination and improved communication of existing facilities
Promotion of new facilities and forthcoming events
Improved information on local businesses, services and organisations

The website would be

  • Free to access
  • Dynamic, broad in content & up to date for events and news encouraging regular visits
  • A link to existing societies, services and business websites
  • A voice for all residents on a wide range of topics-some serious, some amusing
  • A source of local ,West Cheshire and National information relevant to our residents

Who keeps the show on the road?

There is a 3 man webteam of Arnie Sheppard, Phil Miles and Brian Hardacre who try to keep the website up to date every day. Every few months the Parish Plan Implementation team ( on which 4 Parish Councillors sit and was set up in Jan 2012) still formally meet with the webteam to review progress and consider future developments.

How successful have we been so far?
The only measures we have , apart from passing comments in the village which are thankfully invariably encouraging, are the number of people who access the website and how many documents they read.
We record the average number of people who currently visit the site on a daily basis ( now about 180 /day) but since we don't know who you are this could be 180 visitors /day or say 360 individual residents/visitors who enter the website every 2 days!

We also have an excellent following on Facebook and Twitter who receive all our posts some of whom will follow up articles on the website. On Facebook we have a total reach of 490 with 190 likes.

In the last 12 months this adds up to a staggering 59000 visits accessing 140000 pages!
All in all the whole team feel we must be on the right tracks!

We will shortly be covering in future articles the various features available on the website to ensure you get the maximum enjoyment and benefit from your visits.

Thanks for visiting us!
