For many years, Tarvin Woodland Trust has raised funds to enable it to continue maintaining our woodland by running a plant sale each May. The success of these sales has been due to the quantity and quality of the plants available and they have raised sufficient cash for us to develop the woodland very significantly. Understandably, it is important that the sales continue to be successful.
This year, we need to ask for some help from our friends in and around Tarvin. If we don't have lots and lots of plants to sell, we are in danger of not raising sufficient cash from the sale and therefore of having to limit our activities during the next year. That, dear friends, is where you come in. Please can we ask you to contribute plants for our sale?
The plant sale this year is on Saturday, 13th May and, as usual, it will be on the front of the Chapel on High Street. To get all the plants sorted and ready for the sale, we will be receiving your donations at the Chapel between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday, 11th May.
Please bring plants (labelled if possible) and leave them with us, so that, by Saturday morning, we can have another wonderful display of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, bedding plants, vegetables, fruit, tomatoes, marrows and all sorts of other garden stalwarts on the front of Tarvin Methodist Church.
In the event that you need plant pots or you cannot drop your plants off on the Thursday afternoon, call Jacqui & Charles Bradley on 01829 741172, and we will help you out. If we aren't at home, there's an answerphone for you to leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
On Saturday, the fun begins. At 10am on Saturday, 13th May, the Woodlanders will be selling the plants on the chapel forecourt, there will be a raffle in the Chapel corridor, TMC will be selling its famous bacon baps and the Chapel ladies will be providing hot & cold drinks and cakes in the Fellowship Room!
The whole place will be buzzing! Plant sale day is one of the Tarvin events that the village is proud of and which the whole community enjoys. Please help us in any way that you can. The woodland Trustees and the whole Tarvin community will be exceedingly grateful to you!
