After a Committee meeting on Tuesday April 5th, members gathered to mark the retirement of Brian and Sue Hardacre, who have both given a decade of service to the Community Centre. As well as flowers and a beautiful garden planter, the Committee revealed that they had decided to add the name Hardacre to the stage, a move that reflects Sue's involvement in promoting the arts in the Centre. Tributes were also presented from Tarvin W.I., the Flower Club and former Chairman Alan Wilkinson.

Sue said " It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have been part of such a great team and any successes that I may have achieved have always been a team effort. I have been delighted to have been able to bring some wonderful theatre and music to the Centre and am very pleased that Jane Graham has taken over with such enthusiasm to continue that aim. To have my name on the stage is an unexpected but wonderful honour."

Sue took over as Booking Secretary from Alan Wilkinson on his retirement in May 2019 and she thoroughly enjoyed getting to know so many of the users. Making sure that they had the best experience possible was always her aim, and in this she was supported by Brian, who can stack chairs as well as anyone! More than anything she is delighted to have passed on the baton without ever double-booking events, though sometimes getting customers in and out without clashing has been a challenge.

All enquiries can still use the email address bookings@tarvincommunitycentre.org to contact the Centre. The next CRTA theatre performance is "I am not a bird", a reimagining of the Bronte story, on Friday May 13th..
