The Community Centre is halfway through its ambitious autumn programme of live entertainment. Having enjoyed the garden tales of Old Herbaceous in September, Friday evening (Oct 29th) saw an audience of nearly 100 enjoy the vocal charms of The Bluebird Bells, whose close harmony singing of songs from the 40's,50's and 60's proved very popular. There was bunting, flag waving and communal singing, not to mention gin and tonic at the bar!

The musical theme is continued with the next concert which will be on Friday Nov 12th at 7.30pm. Bowjangles are a string quartet who play, as do all string quartets, 2 violins, a viola, and a cello. But forget any comparison with classic groups like the Amadeus String Quartet, Bowjangles not only play but sing. – beautifully – dance, – very energetically – but they tell stories too. Dracula In Space is their new production and we are delighted to be able to host a group that has not only played extensively on the Rural Touring Scene but has wooded audiences in Edinburgh and New York. Tickets are only £10 from the Post Office or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/cheshireruraltouringarts

If there is sufficient demand, there might be gin and tonic as well!

Saturday December 4th sees the return of the Christmas Market in the evening. For the last few years the day has also been celebrated with a panto. Alas, the pandemic has meant that our usual provider of seasonal fun has stopped touring. Not wanting to disappoint our young audience we have secured the M6 Theatre company's wonderful production of Mavis Sparkle, a tale of Magic and wonder as cleaner Mavis seeks to follow her dreams and see the Northern Lights. There will be two performances at 2.00pm and 4.00pm, allowing families for get ready for the fun of the Christmas Market. Tickets are just £6 for both young and old and you will be able to get them from the Post Office or from www.ticketsource.co.uk/tarvincommunitycentre

Note to grown-ups, there will definitely be no gin and tonic at this performance!
