More than 40 people attended this event which was hosted by the Tarvin Community Centre on Saturday, 1st April.

Participants had a direct video call with the founder of "Help Ukrainians" volunteer project, Alex Gula, and asked their own questions. Alex explained about the actual situation in Ukraine and the key problems he solves with his partners.

Alex Said, "More than 10 000 small volunteer projects are working in Ukraine. Since 24th February 2022, we have been trying to solve thousands of problems which due to a lot of actual reasons can't solve by our government. The volunteers have become a big and powerful force which supports our army and our people."

"We have solved a lot of problems from how to help more than 7 million internal refugees to equip an army, but still have a lot of difficult challenges. Specifically, my project works in four key directions:
1. Helping to buy the pharmacy supplies for our injured troops;
2. Buying special equipment for our air defence forces;
3. Support internal refugees around Ukraine;
4. Buying essentials for people from recaptured territories."

"For example, one woman has collected more than 20 abandoned pets, dogs and cats. She spends all her small salary on food for them. Sometimes she hadn't had anything to eat but fed the animals. It's just one example of brave and generous deeds of Ukrainians."

"As I said we have a lot of actual problems, and every pound is very important. £10 pays for groceries for one week for one adult. Now, many people in the recaptured territories have no electricity, gas, connections, pharmacy and food. Russians had been killing them, torturing them, taking their children and ruining their lives. We can help them, but only together with your support. Thank you very much for your kind, patient participation"- finished Alex.

During the event, we collected £505 and got £45 extra after the event. In the shortest time, this money will be sent to Ukraine and all reports will be published on the TCC website and on TarvinOnline.
