The Community Centre is delighted to announce that they will be hosting the Village Quiz on the evenings of Friday January 7th and Friday January 14th 2022. Doors will be open from 7.00pm and the contest will start at 7.30pm.

This will be the 39th year the Quiz will have been held. It was cancelled last year because of the pandemic restrictions so the ruby anniversary celebrations have had to be postponed until next year.
The rules are simple, teams representing organisations, streets or groups of friends play each other head-to-head in week one. Winning teams return on the second week for another bout until the exciting final round reveals the winner. Questions are a mix of general knowledge with some specialist subjects plus a quick-fire round, with teams facing each other across the stage.

Vice-Chair Sue Hardacre said "This is a thoroughly fun evening for both teams and spectators alike, with the audience equally amazed and amused by the knowledge – or lack of it – from the teams! The bar does excellent business and there is a raffle with great prizes. The evening contributes funds for the general benefit of the Community Centre which this year will be put towards the planned renovations of the toilets."

Teams must have 4 players plus a substitute who must play for both evenings. The cost of team entry is £6 while supporters and other non-players pay £2 to get in. For the evening to work smoothly the ideal number of teams needed is 16 so a call is now going out to organisations for teams. Please ring Jane on 07803 908119 or email her at secretary@tarvincommunitycentre.org if you would like to take part. Sue said "the Village Quiz is now a real Tarvin institution, and it is so good to have it back. With your support this event can keep going for many years to come, and another generation of villagers will enjoy the pride of having their name on the trophy"
