14th August : BBQ at Irene's

7th September : Knutsford Walk, Visit to Elizabeth Gaskell's House and Lunch

10th September : Denman Appeal / Sponsored Woodland Walk at Tarvin

Denman is the WIs own Residential Adult Education College near Oxford. Most of the money needed to buy, develop and maintain the college over the years has been raised by the WI. Denman College provides many short courses, cultural or educational and these are available to any W.I. Member to take advantage of. Elizabeth Brereton gave us a short talk about her recent experience at the Cheshire Denman weekend and encouraged other members to try one of the many residential courses on offer. Clearly, she had such a wonderful time on her course, staying in Denman's lovely accommodation and meeting lots of other members from various WIs that she found the whole experience quite stimulating.

10th October : Forest Group Meeting -- Speaker Margaret Thrower (daughter of Percy)

15th October : CFWI will be holding a Crafty Dabble Day 10 am to 4 pm

9th December : Christmas Lunch at Willington Hall

12th December : Tarvin WI to host the Carol Concert in St. Andrew's Church, Tarvin

The date of the next meeting is Wednesday 31st August at 7.30 pm in the Edna Rose Room at Tarvin Community Centre where new members and visitors are always welcome to come and join us. The topic is Britain's Gift to the World (Sport) with Robbie Brightwell MBE and Ann Brightwell MBE.
