If you own a van with a spare wheel stored underneath, please consider fitting additional security to prevent such a theft.

There have been three houses broken into this week. One in Elton, one in Wervin and one in Helsby. It is likely that all these offences occurred during the day. Please do not be tempted to leave doors or windows open when you go out, even in rural areas, and if you are in the garden, out of sight of the door, lock it and have the key with you.

A locked pedal cycle was stolen from the bike racks at Capenhurst rail station this week. If you find in necessary to leave your bike unattended anywhere, please use a good quality lock. Unfortunately, many cheap locks are easy to cut through or to force open.

Community buildings in both Mickle Trafford and Backford have been broken into this week. If you are involved in an official capacity with any community building, then please ensure that you do not leave cash or valuable items on the premisis.

Two sheds on the allotments in Tarporley were broken into this weekend. Most allotments are only frequented by regular locals. It is likely that the offender knew what was in the sheds. If you have seen anyone unusual hanging about these allotments, please contact the police. The police nationally are trying to raise public awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation. The sexual exploitation of children takes many forms, by many different types of offender. It is not just the stereotypical 'dirty old man in a Mac'. There are many tell-tale signs of when abuse may be occurring, which most people are totally unaware of.
