It has been another very successful year for the Community Centre's annual Christmas Quiz, with even more copies sold than last year -- a total of 167. As last year, entries came from far and wide, including Gloucestershire and London.
Now that the deadline for returning entries has passed, and all the returned papers have been marked, I can announce that this year we have a new winner, plus three joint runners-up. They are:
Winner -- Penny & Dave Morris (Tarvin)
Runners-up -- David Thorp (Tarvin); the Strangward family (Tarvin); Helen Sadler (Aldersey)
The first prize of a yellow rose bush has again this year been generously donated by C & K Jones.
As in previous years, thanks are due to Walk Mill Bakery, Margaret Dixon and Bryan Evans for selling copies. Once again I have had a lot of compliments about the quiz, especially saying that it has become a real family Christmas tradition -- such compliments are always nice, but as I said last year, if any of you think you could do a better job next year, please let me know!
The answers will be posted on the village noticeboard and in the Community Centre and (Editor permitting) published on Tarvinonline soon.
Ed: We can't wait to publish the answers... there were a few tricky ones on that quiz that I'd love to know if we got right!
