Tarvin Primary School has a close relationship with the Community Woodland. Amongst other things, the school uses it as a resource and the Woodland Trust supports the annual Jim Grogan Award.
A group of girls in year 5 thought that it would be a nice idea to raise some money to help the woodland. They organised a Cake Sale after school and their efforts were rewarded in a big way. They raised £80, yes, £80!
The girls were Beth Hardman, Annabel Thorp, Ella Probin, Mimi Jones and Ellie Jones. At the Jim Grogan Award ceremony a surprise item on the agenda was when the girls presented the money to Woodland Trust chairman, Stuart Exell. He said a big thank you to everyone involved.
