Probably the closest to a 'World Record' that Tarvin Methodist Church comes is being a part of this annual fundraiser. It is traditionally held on the last Friday in September, which, this year will be Friday 27th September 2019. We already know of one of the Tarvin 'branches' of the 'Coffee Morning' being held at the Community Centre over lunchtime ' between 12 noon and 2pm ' with sandwiches and cakes on offer, enabling folk to take their lunch break while supporting this excellent cause.
The Chapel will be taking its more customary path by offering coffee, cakes and biscuits to everyone who cares to call in for morning coffee between 10am and noon on Friday 27th September 2019. There will be a conflict neither of time nor of purpose, because the Chapel's session will be for morning coffee only and will not detract from the Community Centre's lunch trade. However, we will be offering some excellent bargains at a White Elephant stall ' with all of the takings going to McMillan.
Someone said to us, 'But I can't come on Friday morning. You're always open for coffee on Saturday morning. Couldn't you do it then, instead?' So, we've decided that we will also open for a second instalment of 'The World's Biggest Coffee Morning' in our customary Saturday morning cafe session (with the White Elephant carried over, too). So, this weekend, between the Chapel session from 10am to noon and the Community Centre one from noon to 2pm on Friday, followed by the Chapel again from 10am to noon on Saturday 28th September, everyone should have a chance to show their support of this tremendous charity.
Friday 27th September 2019 is your chance to support the work of McMillan Cancer Care.
