On Wednesday 29 April we had a change of format for our monthly meeting. We used a cabaret style seating arrangement to enable members to discuss the Annual Meeting Resolution, the main event of the evening, making for a lively start to a very well attended meeting.

The President, Irene Wilkinson opened the meeting and members were informed about forthcoming events, future plans and matters of general interest. Particular reference was made about the plans for the forthcoming Tarvin WI Centenary Celebrations on Wednesday 24 June for a Glitz and Glamour evening.

This was followed by a presentation of Tarvin WI's new website by Lyn Barry (one of Tarvin's new WI members). Our new web address: http://tarvinwi.co.uk displays information about Tarvin WI and the kind of topics that interest the members. The website contains details of the entertaining speakers at the monthly meetings together with news about the spin off craft and book groups. In addition there are details of the monthly luncheons and occasional visits to the theatre, which are proving very popular, and information about organised events. Anyone wishing to contact Tarvin WI for more information can now do so using the link to their new email address which is tarvin.wi@gmail.com.

As mentioned above, the main event of the evening was the proposal of this year's resolution about Care in the Community. The resolution will be voted on at the National Federation of Women's Institutes 2015 Centenary Annual Meeting. The NFWI are delighted to be informed that HM The Queen as President of Sandringham WI and HRH The Princess Royal who is a long standing NFWI Associate WI member will both be attending the meeting.

To celebrate the NFWI Centenary there is to be a WI Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 2 June and each WI has been invited to send a representative. The lucky person to represent Tarvin WI is President Irene Wilkinson who is very excited about the forthcoming event.

Much laughter followed when games of Beetle and Standup Bingo were played. Extremely amusing Poetry readings from Nancy Williams was very entertaining and refreshments of tea and cake were served afterwards, ending the evening on a very friendly note.

Should you be interested in coming to our next meeting, it will be held on Wednesday 27 May 2015 at 7.30 pm at Tarvin Community Centre. Our speaker will be Ian Lloyd talking about his 60 Years in Egg Production. You will be very welcome and we look forward to seeing some of you.
