November update for Tarvin and Kelsall

crime sign 2
  • Horses keep escaping their fields along the A51 and A54. We are in the process of obtaining land users contact information to assist us when animals escape so they can be put back in the right location. If you own land in the area which is used for horses or other livestock we would like to speak to you to record some contact information. Please contact us on 0845 458 6394 and leave your details and we will re contact you.
  • Reports of drink driving from rural public houses continue, some drivers and licensee's think this goes unnoticed. The problem increases over the festive period and is being targeted by ourselves. Police advice is if you drink do not drive. We have vacancies in our en-suite cells at Blacon's biggest hotel for those who don't take this advice and choose to disregard the safety of others however our 'guests' tend not leave positive reviews on trip advisor for their stay
  • A Fieldside (Duddon) resident appeared in court charged with 2 offences of assault and entered a not guilty plea. The housing association are aware of this matter and are working closely with Police regarding the issues raised by local residents
  • A resident of Common lane, Duddon Common has been advised by police to keep their dogs under control after a report they were aggressive towards pedestrians
  • Parking complaints over vehicles on the pavement of the A51 have been dealt with promptly. Please report any similar incidents via telephone 101 so that a suitable resource can be deployed whilst the vehicle is in situ rather than sending complaints of this nature via e-mail
  • Complaints of poor parking causing obstruction on Willington Road, Duddon during school drop off and collection times has been brought to police attention. To educate parents Duddon primary school have written to parents to advise them. However some parents are not modifying their behavior. Please park in a safe place without causing obstruction to others, this will ensure the safety of your child, their friends and other parents when arriving and leaving school
  • We have had a number of burglaries reported earlier this month in Tarvin on Holme Street, Hallfields, Hockenhull Crescent and Hockenhull Avenue. On each occasion the offender forced entry to secure UPVC doors in the late afternoon time. Our PCSO's have delivered leaflets in the affected areas regarding this matter
  • An 18 year old Mouldsworth male residing on the High Street in Tarvin was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and resisting arrest on 17/11/2013
  • On 26/10/13 a male from The Pryors in Tarvin was arrested by the police to prevent a further breach of the peace. The male thought it was acceptable to shout and swear at officers but spent the rest of his evening in our custody suite at Blacon
  • On 31/10/13 someone broke a window at Tarvin Tennis Club, did you see anything?
  • Someone is stealing milk off the doorsteps of houses in Hallows Close in Kelsall, 2 vehicles have also been damaged. If you know who is responsible please let us know
  • A Great Barrow male decamped from a vehicle in Tarvin on 16/11/13 and was later arrested hiding under a bush nearby. He is being prosecuted for drink driving and no insurance offences
  • People still think it is acceptable to park on the double yellow lines outside Kelsall CO-OP and appear oblivious to the dangers it causes to motorists using Hollands lane.
