After a break for Easter, work recommenced Tuesday, 29th March, on the repair of the footpath from the junction of Hockenhall Lane to the A54 and glad to see that the repairs are being continued up to the playing field and Townfield Lane.
While accepting that you cannot make omelets without breaking eggs, it must be said that the provisions for pedestrians were far from adequate. When walking from the village centre to Townfield Lane or the continuation of Holme Street, it involved actually walking without any barrier on the A54, around the mechanical shovel, before regaining the relative safety of a very wet and slippery grass verge!
