The land between Hillcrest and Bank Cottage, between the A54 and Townfield lane, is again the subject of an outline planning application (13/04891OUT), this time for two detached houses accessed from Townfield Lane. The Parish Council is objecting to the application because it is on Green Belt land and there are no special circumstances to justify the proposed development.
However, if the application is approved and the site is developed then the Parish Council feels that the whole of Townfield Lane should be brought up to an adoptable standard, under a Section 106 agreement with the developer.
NB the Parish Council's official view of the site is that the current Green Belt designation of the land between the A54 and A51 is an anomaly and should be removed. However, until the Green Belt boundary is changed the Parish Council would only support development for affordable housing
