The popular Friday Film Night will shortly take a summer break but before then on the 19th of June there will be one last opportunity to enjoy the unique ambient of professionally presented, up to date releases at Tarvin Community Centre.
Our Family Film at 1800 hrs. on the 19th, door open at 1730, is SpongeBob Movie — Sponge our of Water. SpongeBob SquarePants, the world's favourite sea dwelling invertebrate, comes ashore to our world for his most super-heroic adventure yet. Rating is PG and the run time is 1 hr 40 mins.
The adult film at 2000 hrs. is the Women in Gold starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds. It is the remarkable true story of one woman's journey to reclaim her heritage and seek justice for what happened to her family. Sixty years after she fled Vienna during World War II, an elderly Jewish woman, Maria Altmann (Mirren), starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, among them Klimt's famous painting 'Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I'. Together with her inexperienced but plucky young lawyer Randy Schoenberg (Reynolds), she embarks upon a major battle which takes them all the way to the heart of the Austrian establishment and the U.S. Supreme Court, and forces her to confront difficult truths about the past along the way. The rating is PG -13 and a run time of 1 hr 50 mins.
Come rain or shine this summer, Friday Film Night's will be back after the summer break on the 25th. September.
