I think everyone who attended the annual Tarvin Woodlands Apple Pressing event last Saturday would agree it really was a lovely day. We were blessed with delightful weather, not too hot or cold and the atmosphere throughout the event was, as it always seems to be, chilled, relaxing and fun.
Burgers and Hot dogs from the Methodist Church and Pancakes from the Christmas market team were delicious and both very popular. One lady said it was the best meal she'd had all week!
Children had fun and we saw some very imaginative creations at the craft area – always a popular activity.
The focus of the event of course is the chopping and pressing and juicing of the apples from all around the village. Lots of visitors, whether they had managed to bring apples or not, had a go at chopping apples and turning the apple press. It never fails to amaze people that this is entirely free of charge!
If you have not drunk all the juice by now (which you probably have) I thoroughly recommend warming it up and popping a cinnamon stick and a slice of lemon in the pan for a delicious hot autumn drink.
Thanks to Keith Barker for the wonderful photos.
Ed: This has always been and remains to be my absolute favourite Tarvin Community event. Thank you for organising it Tarvin Woodland Group and long may it continue.
