At the Parish Council meeting last Monday evening Councillors were reminded that elections for the Borough and Parish Councils are due to take place on 2nd May 2019.

The Parish Council would particularly welcome younger eligible members of the community to consider putting their names forward to become a Councillor. The Council is non-political and deals with lots of issues which have an impact on the lives of everyone who lives in the Parish.

To be eligible you need to be at least 18 years old, and qualify under one of the following:
a. Be on the Electoral Register for the Parish, or
b. Have owned or rented land in the Parish for 12 months, or
c. Have worked in the Parish for 12 months, or
d. Have lived in the Parish or within 3 miles thereof during the whole of the 12 months preceding appointment.

The Parish Council normally meets once a month on a Monday evening, with occasional extra meetings to deal with particular issues.

Please give it some thought. Further details will be published during March 2019.
