Most of you by now will have received your latest copy of the Tarvin Times, your quarterly magazine produced by the Parish Council. This is distributed to all households in the parish by your dedicated, energetic and sprightly Parish Councillors!
I am sure that all of you will have read the magazine from cover to cover and will have noticed at least one deliberate mistake — or at least MY deliberate mistake.
It would appear that on Friday November 28th the Community Centre is hosting two events, a Film and a Barn Dance. Now the current Community Centre Committee do sometimes think of themselves as superheroes, but this would be a bit much even for them
So, to set the record straight, on Friday November 28th at 7.30 there will be a showing of the comedy What We Did on Our Holiday starring David Tennant, Billy Connolly and Rosamund Pike.' Warm witty and delightful' is one description of this film so I do hope lots of you will come along. Please note that this starts at 7.30pm rather than 8.00pm. There is no children's film on that evening because of a clash with a school function and the Committee fancied an early night!
On Saturday November 29th there is a Barn Dance in aid of the Cubs and Beavers which starts at 8.00pm and goes on until 11.30pm. The re-establishment of the Cub pack has been one of the most heart-warming developments in the village recently and the growth of the Scouting/Guiding movement is to be applauded. They need funds to renovate the huts on the Playing Field and they are getting tantalisingly close to their target so do go along. Doing good always seems easier if you are having fun as well. Tickets priced £10 (inclusive of Buffet Supper) can be obtained from 01829 741474.
Tickets for both these events are also available in the Post office.
