road closures april 2017

We are perhaps used to seeing the occasional yellow road closed notice but to anyone driving around Tarvin recently it seemed that they were everywhere, such that one wondered if it might be a conspiracy to isolate Tarvin from the rest of the UK? If we got out of Tarvin would we ever be able to return home?

The answer lies with CW&C Highways Office that is preparing to carry out "surface treatment works", but what we should probably call resurfacing, on not one but four local streets. The closures are for a maximum of 5 days but is anticipated that the work will actually last for less that this. Detail for each section of repairs is as follows:

High Street – A54 to Hockenhull Lane. The closure will come into force on 23rd April 2017 and it is anticipated that the work will last for approximately two days. See attached plan here.

Broomheath and Heath Heath Drive & Broomheath Lane -- See attachedplan
The closure will come into force on 18th April 2017 and it is anticipated that the work will last for approximately two days.

Crossfields See attachedplan.
The closure will come into force on 19th April 2017 and it is anticipated that the work will last for approximately three days.

Hockenhull Lane – High Street. See attachedplan.
The closure will come into force on 21st April 2017 and it is anticipated that the work will last for approximately three days.

Nothing in the these temporary closures shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture building construction works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade ambulance or police purposes. A through route will not always be available and any vehicles not requiring access to properties on the length of road should use alternative routes.
