Summer is here, and that can only mean that Tarvin Primary School are in the middle of their transition programme!

The current year 6 pupils spent some time at The Conway Centre on Anglesey meeting up with their future high school friends and settling into their new tutor groups...and in the meantime, back home in Tarvin, next year's reception class went into "big school" for their taster days! And it didn't end there either – all of the classes went into "the next year" to get a taster of what life is going to be like in September.

It was quite a sporty week too – the football team came home victorious from the annual tournament hosted by Utkinton Primary School at Tirley Garth. And the tennis team were not to be outdone – they became the area champions!

Members of years 5 & 6 represented Tarvin at the Pupil Voice Democracy Day on Thursday!

Year 4 had a very varied week – Mrs Glazzard educated the children on the sugar content of foods – and they had fun learning doing lots of different activities! And they took to the great outdoors to do their spelling session. And back inside they had fun learning about and making circuits!

Also on the food front, Dahl class learned lots about making bread – and they made shaped bread rolls to show off what they had learned – is there a new Paul Hollywood within their midst?

Did you know that the primary school has it's own kitchen garden? The children love eating the produce that they have grown – last week that included onions, peas and mint!

And finally for this week....there were quiet times too with year 6 producing some fantastic artwork during their transition week!

We hope to bring you more of what's going on at the primary school next week!
