St Andrews Women's Group Meeting in June

It was lovely turning out for our June meeting as the evening was sunny and warm and even when we left the Parish Room it was still light. Long may it continue.

Our speaker, Helen Noble, gave a very interesting talk on Action for Children. We all had to confess to not previously having heard of the charity but once Helen explained that it used to be called National Children's Homes everyone recognised it. As she spoke we were amazed at the challenging work undertaken by staff and volunteers and how, without constant fundraising, they would not survive. Our last meeting before the Summer break is on Wednesday 1st July when we will be sampling Food for Thought.

If you would like to give us a try do come along on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30 p.m. in the Parish Room next to St Andrew's Church. You do not have to belong to St Andrew's to come to our meetings, and for £2.00 which includes Tea/Coffee and biscuits it makes a really varied, interesting and friendly evening.
