On 14th November we published an article under the heading "Investments in the Community Centre" that reported the plan to replace the worn foyer carpets and a major renovation of the hall floor. The former was completed in November (see Article entitled "Out with the Old and in with the New") but the renovation to the hall floor was delayed until the Christmas/New Year period so as to minimise disruption to regular Community Centre users. This meant the sanding work being carried out just prior to Christmas and the subsequent protective coating and polishing being done between Christmas and New Year.
The work was completed to plan and the two photographs show the before and after comparison. While the 24 hours without any foot traffic has now been completed, replacing heavy items such as the piano and PA system was to be delayed for days rather than hours and will circumstances are such that this will not need to be done until nest Thursday.
