Congregations from both Tarvin Churches regularly collect food bank items which are taken jointly to the Cheshire Food bank. In December 2019 we ran a special appeal to support the local Food Bank. We called it a 'Reverse Advent Calendar' and encouraged individuals and families to create an 'Advent Calendar' of FOOD by putting a food item into a box throughout Advent. We collected These boxes and took them to the Food Bank in January. The responsewas amazing from Tarvin, we donated over Half a Tonof food items!
The Methodist Church and the Parish Church are working together and want to do something even better, and deliver items to the Food Bank in time for Christmas itself.
The 12 Days of Christmas
Everyone needs a little help at some stage in their life.so here is a great way to help.
We all enjoy Advent Calendars and receiving a little something every day as we count up to Christmas..so let's do it the other way round..In Reverse!
This Winter could be long and hard for some people and putting food on the table at Christmas may not be easy, or even possible for some people-please help us and join in.
Thank you!
