A Celebration of Pancakes – 2nd March 2-5pm Tarvin Methodist Church
In recent years (that were unaffected by pandemics), the folk from Tarvin Methodist Church have enjoyed spending Shrove Tuesday afternoon eating pancakes at one of their member's houses. However, this year it has been decided that we should invite the whole of Tarvin to the event and so a larger venue is needed – the Chapel itself!
On Tuesday, 1st March, Tarvin Methodist Church will be open from 2pm to 5pm and lots of pancake pans will be busy cooking pancakes to order. All manner of fillings will be available, from old-fashioned lemon & sugar to exotic Nutella and banana, with lots of others in between. The afternoon has been extended to 5pm in order to give mums plenty of chance to collect their children from school and bring them to TMC to enjoy pancakes on the way home.
How good it is to have the Chapel once again functioning at the centre of village life! The "Church on the High Street" was closed for far too long and getting back into the swing of things is not proving easy – but we're doing it! Come along, try the pancakes and see for yourself how we're doing.
Ed: I have a recipe for gluten and lactose free pancakes if you'd like it.
