Tubs 2 Pubs – Recycle and raise funds!

Tens of MILLIONS of plastic tubs are sold in the UK every year. with by far the largest quantity sold and used around Christmas, most households will have given or received at least not of these which are hard to recycle when mixed in with other plastics but when kept together, they are a valuable plastic ~Macmillan have found a partner who can recycle these and raise funds for Cancer support.

Greene King is running a recycling campaign called 'Tub2Pub', to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and recycle these plastic tubs. Although they are not a Greene King pub, TheGeorge and Dragon pub in Tarvin have agreed to be a local hub and one of our Tarvin Online editors will collect all tubs from them by 7th February and take them to a Greene king pub. Just leave your tubs with staff member at the bar.
The deadline for getting tubs to Greene king pubs is 11 February 2024, so we are setting an earlier deadline for the collection at the George and Dragon
The Pubs will accept clean and empty:

Confectionery tubs
Biscuit tubs
Cracker tubs

After 11 February, all the tubs will be collected and taken to a plastic reprocessing centre where they will be shredded, before being sold onto plastic manufacturers to use in place of virgin plastics. The money raised from the sale of Tub2Pub plastics will be given directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.
